THE BASICS

Q. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO PUT ON SUCH A GREAT EVENT?
A. All thanks to our awesome sponsors - Rigters IGA  and HBF!

REGISTRATION

Q. ARE THERE ANY PACE RUNNERS?
A. There are no pace runners provided by RunFest. Any individuals requiring a Pace Runner must
have them register in the same event as that individual.

Q. IS THERE A TEAM EVENT AGAIN THIS YEAR?
A. All RunFest participants will have the opportunity to register as a team as part of the RunFurther
challenge, regardless the event entered by each individual. The winning team will be that in which
the members complete the greatest cumulative distance. Teams need to consist of at least 2
people. The prize for the RunFurther Challenge is $1000 to the club or charity of your choice!

Q. I HAVE AN INFANT IN A STROLLER WHO WILL ACCOMPANY ME ON THE 4KM EVENT, DO I HAVE
TO REGISTER THE INFANT AS WELL?
A. Yes, for insurance purposes you need to register the child’s details, though we will provide you
with a code to allow the infant under 3 years old a free entry. Contact
runfest@geraldtonharriers.com to request the code.

Q. WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT FOR UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN IN THE 4KM?
A. All children under the age of 12 must be registered and accompanied by a registered adult if they
are wishing to participate in the 4km event. A dedicated Junior RunFest will take place on Saturday
afternoon at 4:00pm. This is designed to ensure maximum participation and safety for Juniors over
1.6, 3.2 and 4.8km distance categories.

Q. CAN I NOMINATE SOMEONE TO PICK UP MY RACE PACK?
A. Yes, you may have your race pack picked up on your behalf during the times 1:00pm to 3:00pm
on the Foreshore, near the Geraldton Yacht Club, Marine Terrace, Geraldton.  If you will be arriving
in Geraldton after this time, please contact the event coordinators

Q. I AM UNABLE TO ARRANGE ANYONE ELSE TO PICK UP MY PACK, CAN I PICK IT UP IN THE
MORNING OF RACE DAY?
A. This is an option by prior arrangement only with RunFest Event Coordinators.
It should be your last option as Race Day is hectic for all and pick up at this time may create
additional stress to yourself and organizers.

Q. IF I CAN'T COMPETE, CAN I GET A REFUND?
A. Registration fees will not be refunded to entrants in the event of withdrawal, disqualification,
non-start or non-finish.
Q. CAN I CHANGE EVENTS?
A. You may change event distances up to one week before the event. Organisers will withdraw you
and provide a refund (minus a small charge from Blue Chip Timing). You can then register in the
new distance event.

No event changes can be accommodated in the week before the event. Individuals are only
permitted to participate in the event in which they have registered. Participating in any other
distance will cause significant problems for the organisers and makes reconciling the results very
difficult. Organisers believe this policy is fair and more accommodating than many events.

Q. ARE FINISHER MEDALS AWARDED?
A. Finisher medals are awarded to Marathon and Half marathon finishers only. While the
achievements of finishing other distances may also be of high significance to individuals, finisher
medals cannot be awarded to other distance categories in the interest of keeping the running costs
and there event registration costs to a minimum. This approach assists in making event
participation to be accessible to as many people as possible.
